The Real Problem

Hourly pay is the leak.

Most lawn care owners have a profit problem they're misdiagnosing as a pricing problem or a marketing problem.

Hourly puts the owner and the employee on opposite sides of the clock. You want the work done. They're watching the minutes. The tech who wants to clock out at 4:30 and the tech who wants to bank extra hours are both pulling against your margin — and neither one is thinking about your profit. That's not a people problem. It's a pay-plan problem.

The fix is paying for production instead of paying for hours. It's the same model Aaron has been running in his own company since 2021 — and it's the single biggest reason lawn care companies go from breaking even to 20% net profit.

But building it isn't a one-hour conversation. You have to get the math right. You have to map it to your specific services and crew structure. And you have to roll it out without blowing up your team. That's why this event exists.

What You'll Walk Away With

By Friday at noon, you'll have:

Real deliverables. Built on your business, with your numbers, in your hands.

1
Your rate per budgeted hour
Calculated correctly, with the spreadsheet to maintain it season after season.
2
A performance pay structure
Mapped to your specific services and crew setup — not a generic template.
3
A rollout plan
Who you tell first, what you say, how you handle the veteran who's been hourly for ten years.
4
The objection script
The questions you already know are coming — and how to answer them without losing the room.
5
A go-live timeline
A path to switching pay models without blowing up morale or your margin.

Be honest with yourself.

This event isn't for everyone — and that's intentional.

✓ This is for you if…

You run a lawn care company with employees on payroll
You're tired of paying for hours and getting hours
You know hourly pay is leaking your margin but you're not sure how to fix it without blowing up your team
You're willing to do the math, hold the conversations, and put a real plan in motion in the next 60–90 days

✗ This is NOT for you if…

You're shopping for general business advice or networking
You don't yet have employees on payroll
You're not actually ready to change how you pay your team this season
Meet Your Presenters

The people actually running this.

Not consultants reading a deck. An operator who's run this exact pay model for five seasons, and a leadership coach who built the culture framework that makes it stick.

Aaron Suttenfield
The Operator
Aaron Suttenfield
Started his lawn care business in 1996 as a college dropout. Spent nearly 20 years grinding the hard way before rebuilding it around fertilization, automation, and performance pay. He's been running this exact pay model in his own company since 2021 — five seasons of pressure-testing in a real lawn care business. He owns RDS in Belmont, NC, where this event is being held.
Dan Ralphs
The Leadership Coach
Dan Ralphs
13 years inside one of the best-run companies in America (Inc. 500, Top 20 Great Places to Work). Now coaches $1M+ lawn care CEOs on building purpose-driven, profitable companies. His job at this event: making sure the pay plan you build actually fits the team and the culture you want to lead.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

No. This is a working event. You'll be running the numbers on your own business in the room. Bring a laptop and your last 12 months of payroll and revenue data — we'll tell you exactly what to bring once you register.
Yes. The extra seat is $300. Honestly the rollout goes way better when more than one person from your company is in the room. Limit one additional guest per company.
Come if you can. The dinner is informal — food, family, and time with other owners doing the same work you are. It's optional, but most people say it ends up being the best part of the event.
Then save your seat for the next round. This event is built for owners planning to roll out within 60–90 days. If you're still six months away, you'll get more out of it later.
Seats are non-refundable but fully transferable. If you can't make it, send your operations manager or partner in your place — just let us know who's coming.
